1. How did you discover your love for illustration?
I was drawing since I was a kid, but then life happened and I became a
Eventually, in 2012, I saw a new kind of pop
collage on tumblr, and it took me by surprise. I adopted the style and started making my own immediately.
2. Take us through the mental, physical and emotion process you experience when illustrating.
Frustration is possibly the biggest thing with collage. You might have
an idea in your mind, but it can't really materialize the way you want
it to, because chances are, you won't have the right images for it in
your archive. For drawing, the frustration is mostly in the details --
I don't like doing detailed work, be it art, or ironing clothes. Other
than that, I feel elation and happiness doing art.
3. Are there any real life lessons that have jumped out of the word of
illustrating, if so, what are they?
I think it's the other way around for me. My artworks contain my
thoughts and my experiences in life. This is why a lot of my collages
are rather sarcastic...
4. If there was one superpower this activity has lent you, what would it be?
Being able to see symmetry in both shape and color, really fast.
